Wu River (Yangtze River tributary)

The Wu Jiang (Chinese乌江) is a right tributary of the Yangtze River. He has a southern and northern source, the south is the Sancha He (三 岔河), the northern of the Liuchong He (六 冲 河). After the confluence of the river has a different name, until Wujiangdu (乌江渡) in the district of Zunyi he bears the name of Wu Jiang. The source of Sancha He is located in the western part of Guizhou Province in Weining county (威宁县) at the eastern foot of the mountain Wumeng Shan (乌蒙山). It flows through the north and the south of Guizhou, Chongqing, in the territory of Fuling (涪陵 区) it flows into the Yangtze River. The Wu Jiang is over 1000 km long. Middle and lower reaches are navigable.

Among its tributaries Liuchong He (六 冲 河), Maotiao He (猫 跳河) Qingshui Jiang (清水 江), Xiangjiang (湘江), Zhuo He (濯 河), Hongdu He (洪 渡河) and Furong Jiang (芙蓉 江).
