Xinxiang

Xinxiang (新乡 市/新乡 市, Xinxiang shì, New home ') is a prefecture-level city in northern Henan province. In the census of 2010 Xinxiang had 5,707,801 inhabitants, of whom 779 775 in the inner city districts Weibin, Hongqi and Muye ( comparative figures: about 5.51 million inhabitants ( end of 2004), of which 748 165 (1 January 2005 ) in the inner districts ). Geography

Location

The Xinxiang City is predominantly in the lowlands and extends over an area of ​​8629 km ². It borders the provincial capital of Zhengzhou to the southwest, Kaifeng to the southeast, Hebi and Anyang to the north, and Jiaozuo to the west. In the north- west and east are the provinces of Shanxi and Shandong.

Climate

History

Xinxiang was the site of the Battle of Muye in which the Shang Dynasty was defeated by the Zhou Dynasty. Under the Sui Dynasty ( 581-618 ) was located in the district of Xinxiang a small market town. Economy and infrastructure

Natural Resources and Energy

So far, 20 different minerals have been discovered in the vicinity of Xinxiang, including coal with only 8.4 billion tons, also limestone, granite and clay. The water supply secure the Yellow River and its tributaries. With a capacity of 1700 megawatts Xinxiang is the main electric utility in central China. Traffic

Xinxiang is located on the railway line from Beijing to Guangzhou. In addition, the city on the Wei River (卫 河), which was made ​​navigable for small boats in the 1950s, coupled with Tianjin. Baiquan
