Yves Dimier

Yves Dimier ( born July 25, 1969 in Saint -Jean -de- Maurienne ) is a French sports official and former alpine skier. He specializes in the slalom and giant slalom.

Biography

Dimier first appeared at the Junior World Championship 1987 in theaters internationally in appearance, but was unable to reach countable results in the following years. It was not until nearly six years later, on 9 January 1993, he became the 21st of the slalom in Garmisch -Partenkirchen first World Cup points. In the 1993/94 season he won the European Cup second place in the slalom standings and third place in the overall standings. His best result of the season in the World Cup was an eighth place.

In the 1994/95 season succeeded Dimier, twice to drive in a World Cup slalom to third place: on January 8 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen and on March 19 at the World Cup finals in Bormio. At the beginning of the 1995/96 season Dimier achieved the best result of his career when he was second in the slalom the 3- Tre race in Madonna di Campiglio on December 19. It was followed by three more top-10 results, which he finished in 8th place in the slalom standings. This level could no longer hold Dimier in the sequence. In the season 1996/97 he was no more than ninth place out in the 1997 season / 98 he could only boast a 16th place as best result. End of the season 1998/99 he announced his resignation.

From 2006 Dimier worked for the alpine skiing in the French Ski Federation as technical director. In July 2010, he left the organization after the new President Michel Vion had deleted this post. In October 2010, the Organising Committee of the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 announced that it has Dimier committed as a manager for the Alpine disciplines. In this role he will take over the coordination between the Organising Committee, the Russian Ski Association and the organizers of the pre-Olympic race.
