The Zagreb County [za ː grɛb ] (Croatian Zagrebačka županija ) is a county in northern Croatia. It covers the area of the Croatian capital Zagreb. It has an area of 3078 km ² and 317 606 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). Council is based in Zagreb, which itself is not part of Zagreb County, however, it forms a county of its own.
