Aaron Schock

Aaron Jon Schock ( born May 28, 1981 in Morris, Stevens County, Minnesota) is an American politician. He is a member of the Republican Party and since 2009 as a representative of the State of Illinois representative in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Shock was born the son of a doctor in Morris. In the age of five, the family moved to Peoria, Illinois. There, he graduated from the high school. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 2002 at the Bradley University.

His political career began as a member of the School Board in Peoria. There he was a member from 2001 to 2004 and then for one year president. At the age of 23 he became the youngest at that time a member of the House of Representatives from Illinois. He held from 2005 to 2009, this mandate.

In the 2008 election he was able to win with 59% of the vote against Democrat Colleen Callahan and the Greens Sheldon Schafer and has been representing the 18th Congress District of Illinois Member of the House of Representatives. He succeeds Ray LaHood, who was appointed after the victory of Barack Obama in the presidential election in 2008 as Minister of Transport. Shock was 2009-2013 youngest member in the House of Representatives; since this is the almost two years younger Democrat Patrick Murphy from Florida.
