Ami Bera

Amerish as " Ami" Bera ( born March 2, 1965 in Los Angeles, California) is an American politician. Since 2013 he represents the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Ami Bera is the son of Indian immigrants. He grew up in La Palma and then studied until 1987 at the University of California at Irvine biology. Subsequently, he studied until 1991 at the same university medicine. He then worked as a doctor. Between 2004 and 2007 he was deputy dean of the medical faculty of the University of California at Irvine. After that, he served as Chief Medical Officer Head of the Health Department in the administration of Sacramento County. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party. In 2010, he ran unsuccessfully for even the U.S. House of Representatives.

In the congressional elections of 2012 Bera but then in the seventh constituency of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC was chosen, where he took over from George Miller on January 3, 2013, who joined in the eleventh district. Bera won the election with 51.1 percent of the vote against Republican Dan Lungren ( 48.9 percent).

Ami Bera is married and has one daughter. The family lives privately in Elk Grove.
