Carl West Rich

Carl West Rich ( born September 12, 1898 in Cincinnati, Ohio, † June 26, 1972 ) was an American politician of the Republican Party. From 1963 to 1965 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 1st Congressional District of the State of Ohio.

Biography

Carl West Rich was born in Cincinnati. He attended the Walnut Hills High School. At the University of Cincinnati in 1922, he received his bachelor's degree from the College of Liberal Arts, College of Law in 1924, he received his Bachelor of Laws. He was then admitted to the bar and opened a law firm in Cincinnati. From 1925 to 1929 he worked as a prosecutor of Cincinnati. Prosecutor in Hamilton County, he was from 1938 to 1947. A between 1947 and 1956, he was nine years a member of the Cincinnati City Council and several times mayor. He was also Chairman of the Cincinnati Royals.

As a representative of the 1st district of Ohio, he was in 1963 for a term of the House of Representatives in Washington DC sent. He went to his resignation from the Congress returned to his legal practice after.

Rich died in 1972 at the age of 73 years in Cincinnati. He was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery.
