Ellsworth Raymond Bathrick

Ellsworth Raymond Bathrick ( born January 6, 1863 in Pontiac, Michigan, † December 23, 1917 in Akron, Ohio ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party. March 4, 1911 to March 3, 1915, and March 4, 1917 until his death he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 14th and 19th Congressional District of the State of Ohio.

Biography

Bathrick was born the son of Summer and Louisa Bathrick in Pontiac. He attended the local schools. In 1889 he married Mary L. Clark. In 1890 he moved with his wife to New York City where Bathrick worked in the oil business. During this time he worked for a newspaper in Cleveland and incidentally wrote five children's books that were not published until after his death. In 1900 he moved again, this time to Akron. There he was henceforth operate as an estate agent.

In the 1910 congressional elections Bathrick was elected as representatives of the 19th Congress District of Ohio in the House of Representatives. The re-election once succeeded. In the 1914 elections, he was forced to retire due to constituency shifts ( gerrymandering ) is domiciled. He turned back to the real estate business. In 1916 he was again elected to the House of Representatives, this time in the 14th district. Less than a year after his re- inauguration Bathrick died in Akron. He was buried in Glendale Cemetery.
