San Costantino Albanese

San Constantino Albanese ( Arbëresh: Holy Evangelist Kostandini Arbëreshë ) is a Southern Italian municipality ( comune ) in the province of Potenza, in the Basilicata with about 754 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012). The municipality is situated approximately 79 km south-southeast of Potenza in Pollino National Park between two tributaries of the Sinni and belongs to the Comunità montana Val Sarmento.

History

The town was founded in 1534 by Albanian immigrants. Even today, the place belongs to Greek-Albanian -speaking enclave.
