Steve LaTourette

Steven C. "Steve" LaTourette ( born July 22, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio ) is an American politician of the Republican Party. From 1995 to 2013 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 14th Congressional District of the State of Ohio.

Biography

1972 LaTourette received his high school degree at the Cleveland Heights High School in Cleveland. He studied law at the University of Michigan and Cleveland State University. Prior to his election to the U.S. House of Representatives, he served as chief prosecutor of the Lake County since 1989. He was instrumental in the taking of Jeffrey Lundgren.

From 1995 to 2003 he sat as representative of the 19th district in Congress House. This district was dissolved for the congressional election in 2002 and united with the 14th district. Since then, represents the 14th District LaTourette to succeed Thomas C. Sawyer. His seat he could defend in the eight subsequent elections. In the House he is a member of the Committee on Appropriations.

LaTourette is married for the second time. 2003 he had divorced his first wife. He married in 2004 his office manager Jennifer Laptook. He is a Methodist and has lived in Geauga County.

July 31, 2012 LaTourette announced that he would not run in November of the same year for re-election. He attributed this to the " toxic " atmosphere in Congress and with the ideological stubbornness of the radical wing of the two major parties.
