1919–20 PCHA season

The season 1919/20, was the ninth regular season of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association ( PCHA ). Masters were the Seattle Metropolitans.

Mode

In the regular season, three teams each completed 22 games. The top two teams then met in return match against each other for the title, the better goal of both games was crucial. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw one point and at a defeat.

Course of the season

In a narrow course of the season ranked first and the third were separated by just four points. The title of the regular season, the Seattle Metropolitans decided with a 12:10 victory over the Vancouver Millionaires before 7,000 spectators for themselves. In the playoffs to Seattle initially decided a home game against Vancouver be allowed to unsubscribe, but was subject to its own ice cream with 1:3. However, in the second leg they could win in front of 9,000 fans away in Vancouver clearly with 6:0 and also secure the playoff title.

Stanley Cup Challenge

To the Stanley Cup were the Seattle Metropolitans against the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League. While the Metropolitans were able to make the best-of -five series started after two defeats, but Ottawa won the decisive fifth game significantly by 6-1, with Jack Darragh scored a hat trick for Canadians.
