1915–16 PCHA season
The season 1915/16 was the fifth regular season of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association ( PCHA ). Masters were the Portland Rosebuds.
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Seattle Metropolitans were added as an expansion team in the league.
Mode
In the regular season, the four teams each completed 18 games. The winner after the regular season was champion. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw one point and at a defeat.
Course of the season
With the Seattle Metropolitans another American team was admitted to the PCHA. For this reason, the league stepped up its efforts to poach players from the National Hockey League competition Association to meet the demand for good players. So you could lure stars such as Jack Walker, Frank Foyston, Cully Wilson, Eddie Carpenter and Hap Holmes in the PCHA, while the NHA PCHA player Skinner Poulin, Frank Nighbor, Bert Lindsay and Walter Smaill hiring away in return. Already in its second season, the Portland Rosebuds won the championship of the league. Leading scorer with 35 points was Cyclone Taylor, while Bernie Morris with 23 goals was top scorer.

Stanley Cup Challenge
As the first U.S. team ever entered the Portland Rosebuds of the PCHA champion for the Stanley Cup. In the playoffs, they were subject to the Canadiens de Montréal from the National Hockey Association in a best - of-five series with 2:3 victories.
