1964–65 Intertoto Cup
The 4th International Football Cup was held in the season 1964/65. It was attended by 44 teams, including for the first time teams from Bulgaria and Greece.
Won the final Polonia Bytom after two finals on 9 and 16 June against SC Leipzig with a total of 5:4.
Group stage
The teams were divided into 11 groups, each with four teams, as far as possible the geographical location.
The group winners qualified for the knockout stage.

First round
The UEFA to arranged that the clubs in UEFA competitions ( European Cup of Champion; Cup winner) took part, may not participate in any other tournament that exceeded the summer break. For this reason, received a bye:
- Netherlands AFC Door Wilskracht Sterk ( participants in the European Champions Cup )
- Sweden Malmö FF ( participants in the European Champions Cup )
- Federal Republic of Germany Hertha BSC
- Germany Democratic Republic in 1949 SC Leipzig
- Poland Polonia Bytom
Quarterfinals
The AFC Door Wilskracht Sterk was still represented in the European Champions Cup and thus different from the competition. Thus received a bye:
