1970 NHL Expansion Draft
The NHL Expansion Draft 1970 was held on 9 June 1970 by the National Hockey League. The draft was necessary, since the league before the 1970/71 season with the Buffalo Sabres and the Vancouver Canucks was increased by two teams.
Regulate
Since the cadres of the two new franchises had to be filled with players, it was necessary that the two new teams were allowed to choose players from the existing NHL teams. However, the 12 old NHL teams had the right to block a certain number of players, so do not make this choice available, so that they could keep their star players.
