1974 NHL Expansion Draft

The NHL Expansion Draft 1974 was held on 12 June 1974 by the National Hockey League. The draft was necessary, since the league before the season 1974/75 with the Kansas City Scouts and Washington Capitals was increased by two teams.

Regulate

Since the cadres of the two new franchises had to be filled with players, it was necessary that two new teams each were allowed to choose between two and four players from the existing NHL teams. However, these 15 teams had the right to block a certain number of players, so do not make this choice available, so that they could keep their star players.
