1972–73 DFB-Ligapokal
The DFB - League Cup 1972/73 was the first competition of its kind in Germany. At that time the season started because of the Olympic Games in Munich later, and with this tournament, the time should be bridged to the start of the season. The competition, including finals, but took over the entire season, so that the final was held in June 1973. Hamburger SV defeated in local popular Park Stadium on 6 June 1973 Borussia Mönchengladbach clearly 4-0.
