1991–92 2. Bundesliga

In the season 1991/92 the 2nd Bundesliga 1.FC Saarbrücken and Bayer reached 05 Uerdingen promotion to the Bundesliga. It was the first season with the participation of teams from the former GDR.

Mode

Due to the addition of six teams from the East German Oberliga league was divided into two groups, each with twelve teams. First, a normal point game round (22 games) was performed. Following the two leagues were divided into a master and a descent group; the points from the first point round could be obtained. The two masters on up. The last two teams in each squadron had to dismount directly. The third respectively last played a relegation to the Second of the Oberliga Nord ( the master of the Oberliga Nord played as the masters of the other nine top leagues, in a separate promotion round ). Blue and white 90 Berlin was revoked the license and dismounted together with Brandenburg, Halle and Erfurt. For advanced in the north Fortuna Cologne of the relegation place.
