1993 World Men's Handball Championship

The 13th World Handball Championship for men was held in Sweden from 10 to 20 March 1993. A total of 16 teams participated in the tournament. World champion Russia, which prevailed in the final 28:19 against France. Third place went to Sweden, which defeated the Switzerland with 26:19. The German team was sixth, Austria finished in 14th place. The first nine teams qualified directly for the next World Cup in 1995 in Iceland.

First, the teams were divided into four groups in the first round against each other. The first three teams in each group qualified for the main round.
