1998 Five Nations Championship
The 1998 edition of the annual rugby union Five Nations Tournament (since 2000 Six Nations ) took place at five weekends between 7 February and 5 April. Tournament winner was France, which managed with wins against all other participants the Grand Slam for the sixth time. Second-placed England triumphed against all British teams and secured for the fourth time in a row the Triple Crown.
Wales wore its home games in London's Wembley Stadium, as the traditional venue, Cardiff Arms Park, was demolished because of the construction of the Millennium Stadium in 1997. The home matches of France were first held in the new Stade de France.
