2008–09 TFF First League
The Bank Asya 1 Lig 2008/ 09 was the 46th season of the Second Turkish league. The relegated from the Turkcell Süper Lig this season Manisaspor, Çaykur Rizespor and Kasımpaşa Istanbul. Promoted from the 3rd League were Adanaspor, Kardemir Karabükspor and Güngören Belediyespor. The season started on 30 August 2008 and ended with the play- off final on May 17, 2009 in Ankara.
On 33 Round stood firm the direct Up for Turkcell Süper Lig with Manisaspor and Diyarbakirspor. In a direct duel handed a 1-1 and thus managed Manisaspor after just one season to return to the Turkcell Süper Lig On the same Gameday also the descent of Malatyaspor by a 0-2 defeat at Kartalspor was sealed. On the final day of the descent for Sakaryaspor and Güngören Belediyespor stable. Sakaryaspor could no longer hold the class despite a 1-0 victory against Kasımpaşa Istanbul. Samsunspor was better than Sakaryaspor in direct comparison.

Through the play-offs of the third climber for Turkcell Süper Lig is determined. The semi-finals will take place on May 15, 2009. The finale to the last promotion place take place on 17 May 2009. All matches will be played in Yenikent ASAS Stadı in Ankara.
