The Women's World Cup was held in Harbin, China from 4 to 13 April 2008. All games took place in the Baqu Arena, see the 5,000 spectators.

Mode

As in previous years, nine teams participating in the World Cup. These were first divided into the following three groups:

The winners of the three preliminary groups A, B and C played in another group (D ), the two finalists from the runners-up in Group E the second participant of the game for 3rd place ( against the third group D ). In the Relegation Group F the third place of the preliminary groups AC played against relegation. Only the last placed descends into the Division I.

Division I

From 10 to 16 March 2008, the world championship tournament was held at the Division I Ventspils OC Ledus hall ( 2,000 seats ) in Ventspils in Latvia. Six teams took part, of which the Kazakh national already in the penultimate game for the A- World Cup 2009 qualifying and so managed its chances of promotion. Host Latvia was relegated to the Second Division.

From 25 to 30 March 2008, the World Championship Tournament Division II was fought Vierumaeki in Finland. Six teams took part; Austria succeeded in rising to Division I, Australia got off to Division III.

Division III

The Tournament Division III took place until April 12, 2008 in Miskolc in Hungary of 6. All matches were played at the rink Miskolc Jégcsarnok that offers 1,800 spectators.

Division IV

The World Cup tournament of Division IV took place until March 29, 2008 in Miercurea Ciuc in Romania of 23. The matches were played in the arena vakar Lajos Műjégpálya, see the 4,000 spectators. Six teams participated in the tournament. The Icelandic national team reached the summit in the Division III.
