2011 FIVB World Grand Prix

The 2011 season of the Volleyball World Grand Prix was the 19th edition of the competition. It began on 5 August and ended on August 28. For the first time took 16 instead of 12 teams participated in the competition.

Mode

In the first round came to sixteen teams. In the first three weeks of four tournaments were held in parallel with four teams. The top seven teams overall qualified alongside hosts China for the final round. In the final round the teams were divided into two groups of four and played " all against all ". The top two teams from each group reached the semi-finals Final.

With a 3:0 or 3:1, there were three points for the winner and not the loser. In a 3-2 winner of the opponents received two points, one point. If two or more team were level on points, the order specified in the table on the following criteria: First, the number of games won decided the case of equality the ratio of the rates and in the end the quotient of the ball points.
