2001 FIVB World Grand Prix

The 2001 season of the Volleyball World Grand Prix was the ninth edition of the competition. It began on August 3, and ended on August 26. The United States won for the second time the title.

Mode

In the preliminary round came at eight teams. In the first three weeks, two tournaments with four teams took place in parallel. In the final round, the eight teams were divided into two groups in which " everyone against everyone " played respectively. It was the opening round encounters 1-8, 2-7, 3-6 and 4-5. The group Third and Fourth group played against each other from positions five to eight and the first two teams of each group met in the semi-finals.

Final round

The final round was held in Macau from 22 to 26 August. The German team took eighth place and played with: Christina Benecke, Andrea Berg, Beatrice Dömeland, Angelina Grün, Ulrike Jurkschat, Anja Krause, Jana Müller, Anja- Nadin Pietrek, Kathy Radzuweit, Sylvia Roll, Judith Sylvester and Birgit Thumm. Coach was Hee Wan Lee.
