2012–13 Egyptian Premier League

The Egyptian Premier League 2012/13 is the 56th season of the Egyptian Premier League, the highest Egyptian championship in football since their introduction in 1948 / 49th

Participating teams

Overall, since 1948/49, took part in 64 different teams in the championship, but it was only al Ahly Cairo and al Zamalek SC to participate in all championships.

On 11 July 2013, the Egyptian Premier Leage was interrupted because of the unstable political situation in Egypt, as Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi was deposed by the military on July 3, 2013, which triggered mass protests.

Mode

The 18 teams were divided into two groups of nine teams that will be played in home and away matches, but this round was not completed. The group winners and runners- Waerden been qualified for the Championship play-off, the teams in the stands 7-9 would have had to compete for the league in the relegation. All four participants in the Championship play -offs, as well as al -Ittihad Al- Sakndary and El - Entag El- Harby as a participant in the relegation had already been decided.
