AFC United

United AFC is a Swedish football club based in Upplands Väsby. Under the name Väsby United, the club temporarily entered in the second highest Swedish league.


Väsby United emerged in early 2005 from the merger of the two football clubs Stockholm Väsby IK and FC Café Opera. The merger Association took over in the 2005 starting grid of FC Café Opera in the subprime Superettan. In his first season, ninth table of the club is at the end of next season's relegation place for a third-class Division 1 after one draw and one defeat against IK Sirius rose from the club to the third tier.

Under coach Mikael Stahre the team rose in the third league season 2007 than in second behind Assyriska Föreningen right back on. End of 2008, Thomas Lagerlöf the team that the second division season 2009 ended under his direction on the last non- relegation zone. In the following season the club was already ahead with two games left in the season firmly relegated.

Before the start of the 2007 Väsby United ended with AIK a cooperation agreement, supported in the AIK to the contractor in the construction of professional structures - for example, joined the former AIK goalkeeper coach Anders Almgren the club - and in return Väsby United can get match practice talent. For AIK players like Saihou Jagne, Walid Atta, Martin Kayongo - Mutumba or Viktor Lundberg came to inserts for cooperation partners in the Superettan.

At the end of the 2011 United Väsby rose as Table from the low ranks. The following year was marked by economic problems, especially after the Kooperationsabkommends with AIK leakage. In summer 2012, the club stepped up its cooperation with the fifth-tier Athletic FC, this resulted in 23 July of the year renamed United AFC. On the last non- relegation zone of the northern season of the league succeeded.
