Alangalang, Leyte

Alangalang is a Philippine municipality in the province of Leyte on Leyte Island. It has 46,411 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 54 barangays. The community is described as partly urban and belongs to the second class of income communities in the Philippines. Your neighboring municipalities are Barugo and San Miguel in the north, in the south Pastrana, Tacloban City to the northeast, Santa Fe on the east and Jaro in the West. Alangalangs economy is mainly determined by the Agriculture and lies in the fertile Leyte Sab -a Basin.

In the village there is a campus of the Visayas State University.
