Anne-Sophie Mutter

Anne- Sophie Mutter ( born June 29, 1963 in Rheinfelden, Baden ) is a German violinist. It is one of the most successful people in the world.

Family and Private

Anne- Sophie Mutter grew up in Baden-Württemberg military. Her father was a newspaper publisher (Alb messenger ) Karl- Wilhelm Mother. The age of five she wished violin lessons. When she won a contest after half a year, it was clear to her career aspirations. She was released from compulsory school attendance and received in addition to piano and violin lessons at private schools. She won several times making music competition youth. The professional world became aware of the 13 -year-old when she made her debut in 1977 at the Salzburg Whitsun Concerts in Mozart's G major Concerto under Herbert von Karajan. Subsequent concerts and recordings with the Berlin Philharmonic under Karajan in the 1980s justified their world fame.

Anne- Sophie Mutter was married from 1989 until his death in 1995 with the lawyer Detlef Wunderlich. 2002 to 2006 she was married to his second wife with the composer, pianist and conductor André Previn. She lives in Munich and has two children. Her older brother, Christoph Mother ( b. 1961 ) is a lawyer.

Anne- Sophie Mutter has two precious Stradivarius violins Emiliani and the Lord Dunn -Raven. While the latter is its presently preferred concert violin, the Emiliani can be heard especially in the recordings with Karajan.

The Emiliani they acquired through the mediation of the former Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Economy Rudolf Eberle, of, the neighboring town of Weir, council belonged, among others, in Bad Säckingen. About the L- Bank, he brokered the purchase of this instrument in 1984. Nowadays the collection of the Bank comprises 22 old musical instruments that it provides young artists and concert masters.

Honors and Awards

Anne- Sophie Mutter was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class, of the Order of Merit (2009), the Bavarian Order of Merit, the Medal of Merit of the State of Baden -Württemberg and the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art. In 2001 she was awarded the Léonie Sonning Music Prize, the Bavarian Maximilian Order for Science and Art and the Cultural Prize of Honour City of Munich. In 2003 she was awarded in Baden-Baden, the Herbert von Karajan Music Prize. In 2008 she was awarded the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize and the Grand Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria and the Gewandhaus with the International Mendelssohn Prize in Leipzig (Category Music ). For the promotion of young string she founded two organizations, 1987, the Rudolf -Eberle Foundation, and in 1997 the Anne -Sophie Mutter Foundation. The following year, she recorded the complete violin sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven with Lambert Orkis. The CD was awarded with a " Grammy " for best chamber music recording. One also carried out with L. Orkis recording of all violin sonatas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (2006, see below ) received in France the award " Choc de l' année ".

Anne- Sophie Mutter is an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Music. In 2009 she received the French President for her commitment to the works of French composers and contemporary music of the Knights of the Order of the Legion of Honour.

2009 was Anne -Sophie Mutter as Instrumentalist of the ECHO Klassik, in July of the same year she was awarded with the European St. Ulrich's Prize.

In 2010 she received from the Working Group of Independent Cultural Institute eV ( AsKI ) for their example to other, personal commitment to the promotion of gifted Strings and the promising young musicians in the Anne -Sophie Mutter Foundation she founded the Maecenas ceremony. In addition, she was honored for her life's work with the price of the Cultural Foundation of Dortmund.

In 2011 she was honored with the Brahms Prize. Another award she received the Erich Fromm Prize for its comprehensive social work. In addition, she received the Gustav -Adolf -Werk of the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau for her social commitment to diaconal Gustav -Adolf- price. In 2013 she was elected Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

The town weir identified road with the house in which the artist grew up in Anne- Sophie Mutter way.
