Arūnas Degutis

Arūnas Degutis ( born July 26, 1958 in Kaunas) is a Lithuanian managers and politicians, Member of the European Parliament ( 2004-2009).

Life

Degutis studied from 1976 at the Faculty of Economic Cybernetics and Finance of the University of Vilnius, where he completed his studies in 1981. He was editor of the ( published by the Lithuanian independence movement ) " Sąjūdis News', 1984 member of the Audit and Accounts Committee of the Lithuanian Cooperative Association and in 1988 a member of the " Sąjūdis " Council of Vilnius.

Degutis was from 1990 to 1992 member of the Lithuanian Constitutional Assembly ( Seimas ) and was on March 11, 1990 the signatories of Lithuanian independence declaration. He was between 1992 and 1993 as a project manager at the "Canadian AGRA / AGRA AG ", and is from 1995 to 1999 Member of the American Chamber of Commerce. Moreover Degutis in 2000 was employed as a consultant by the Mayor of Vilnius and worked in 1999 and 2001 as a consultant Prime Minister of Lithuania in questions of foreign investment. he was from 2004 to 2007 member of the Council of Darbo partija, about which he also reached the European Parliament. According to the turmoil within the party Degutis came in 2007 from the party. he was a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.

Since 1999 he heads the Association Lietuvos ir orlaivių savininkų pilotų Asociacija.
