Asheville Aces

The Asheville Aces were an American ice hockey team from Asheville, North Carolina. The team played in the 2004/05 season in the Southern Professional Hockey League.

History

The team was founded in 2004 as a franchise of the Southern Professional Hockey League. She filled the void left by the Asheville Smoke had left out of the United Hockey League through its dissolution in 2002 in the city. In her only season the Asheville Aces occupied with 38 points the seventh of eight courses and thus missed the playoffs for the President's Cup. Only the team of Winston-Salem Polar Twins had 28 points with a worse record. After only one year put the franchise in 2005 the play mode again.
