Mississippi Surge

The Mississippi Surge is an American ice hockey team from Biloxi, Mississippi. The team plays since 2009 in the Southern Professional Hockey League.

History

The team was founded in 2009 as a franchise of the Southern Professional Hockey League. In Biloxi, they filled the gap that the Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL had left following the 2008/ 09 season in the city. In its inaugural season, the Mississippi Surge occupied in the 2009/10 season immediately took first place after the regular season, for which she received the William B. Coffey Trophy. However, in the subsequent playoffs for the President's Cup they lost the Huntsville Havoc with a sweep in the best- of-five series.
