Athienville
Athienville is a commune with 171 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle in the Lorraine region. Administratively it belongs to the district Luneville, to Canton Arracourt and founded in 1998 Local Government Association Pays du Sânon.
Geography
Athienville is located at 230 m above sea level, about 16 kilometers north of the town of Luneville and about 13 kilometers south of Château- Salins.
The municipality covers a portion of the flat -wave area between the rivers seille and Sânon east of Nancy. The almost 13 km ² large municipality area consists largely of agricultural land. About a quarter of the area is forested ( Forêt de Ranzey in the west and the Bois de Bénamont in the southeast ). One kilometer north-east of the village center form the hill Jumelles ( = twins, 293 and 287 m above sea level) two distinctive viewpoints that are stylized with a red zigzag bar also in the municipal coat of arms.
To Athienville include the hamlets and farms Hincourt, Ferme de Harlauville and Ferme de Ranzey.
Neighboring communities of Athienville are Bezange -la -Grande in the north, Arracourt in the east, in the southeast Bathelémont, Valhey in the south, in the southwest of Serres and Hoéville in the West.
History
Before the Franco-German War, the village belonged to the canton of Vic- sur- seille. After the Treaty of Frankfurt was created from the southern part of the canton of the new Canton Arracourt which remained in France and which included Athienville.

Altar and the tabernacle of the Church of St. Peter and Paul ( Église Saint- Pierre -et-Saint -Paul ) ( newly painted and gilded 1920) from the first half of the 18th century are classified as a monument historique.
Infrastructure
Athienville is off the major national transport links. Through the neighboring communities Arracourt and Valhey the highway of Luneville on Moyenvic leads to Château- Salins. Other roads connect the Athienville with communities Bezange -la -Grande and Serres.
