Mouacourt

Mouacourt is a commune with 90 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle in the Lorraine region. Administratively it belongs to the district Luneville and Canton Arracourt. She is also a member of the local association was founded in 1998 Pays du Sânon.

Geography

Mouacourt is located at 230 m above sea level, about 18 kilometers northeast of the town of Luneville and about 40 kilometers east of Nancy.

The municipal area includes a portion of the upper Sânon Valley. Parallel to Sânon runs the Rhine- Marne Canal. The southern half of the 8.5 km ² municipal area is forested ( Bois des Chenes Hauts ). To the south, the terrain gradually rises; it reaches the southernmost tip of the saddle Carrefour de la Croix Bastien, who leads on to the catchment area of the Vezouze. The northern half of the village is dominated by arable and pasture land.

Neighboring communities of Mouacourt are Coincourt in the north, Xures in the east, in the southeast Emberménil, Laneuveville -au -Bois in the South ( contact point) and Parroy in the West.

History

The name evolved from Mouvaucourt ( 1669) on Moacourt ( 1719) to the present Mouacourt. In the Ancien Régime, the village belonged to the Abbey of Saint -Léger de Marsal.

On 1 January 1973 Mouacourt was incorporated along with the neighboring towns and Coincourt Xures after Parroy. This parish merger was lifted on 1 January 1987.

Infrastructure

Through the community Mouacourt performs the highway of Dombasle -sur -Meurthe on Lagarde towards Sarrebourg. Other roads connect the village with the neighboring communities Coincourt and Laneuveville -au -Bois.
