Background

In 2005, Spears released her first remix album B in the Mix: The Remixes, with the And Then We Kiss also included a new song alongside remixes of their biggest hits from 1998 to 2005. In August 2011, surprisingly there were rumors that Jive Records plan the release of another remix album. On September 9, 2011, Spears confirmed on her personal Twitter account that already 11 October 2011 actually a new remix album will be released and published to the track list. Due to the timely publication in parallel with the appearance of Criminal, the fourth single from the album Femme Fatale, and the absence of new, previously unreleased songs, the plans of the fans were taken only to behave negatively.

Success

Despite the criticism, the remix album enjoyed quite some success. Following the release on iTunes climbed B in the Mix: The Remixes Vol 2 in the top 20 of the iTunes charts in the U.S., France, Italy, Spain and Finland, and in the top 10 in Mexico. On 20 October 2011, the compilation reached the Billboard 200 and rocketed to number 47 and was more successful than B In The Mix: The Remixes, which debuted only at No. 134, 2005.
