Bachs

Bach is a municipality in the district of Dielsdorf the canton of Zurich in Switzerland.

As Bach 1714 - at that time belonging to the bailiwick Regenberg - received a new church, the Zurich sign was put in this, which was supplemented by a faceted star, as a sign for the church of Bach. When it came to establish an official coat of arms, was chosen instead of a faceted star, a simple blue star. In March 1931, the underlying coat of arms was adopted by the council.

The neighboring communities of Bach are the Aargau communities Fisibach and Emperor chair and the Zurich communities Weiach, Stadel, Neerach, Sünikon, Schöfflisdorf and Oberweningen.

Traffic

Although the air distance to the city of Zurich is only 18 km, Bach is still a very rural community, quiet and somewhat secluded. It is the only municipality in the district Dielsdorf it forms part ( yet) to Zurich agglomeration, which also has to do with the poor access to public transport, which is ensured by a post bus line.

History

The earliest settlement of 1277 is mentioned court Hodleten. The landowner, the Earl of Nymburk gave in 1150 a part of the courtyard of the monastery of All Saints in Schaffhausen. The border to the Aargau guarded the castles Waldhausen and Ruebisberg.

From the Habsburgs in 1409 at Zurich Bach went on.

Since the catastrophic fire of 1763 differ Bachser old and Neubachs.

Nature reserve

The forest takes 44% in almost half of the area of the municipality. A cantonal Protection Ordinance restricts the past few decades, the agricultural use of large parts of the valley, which caused initially for bad blood, but today the majority of its supporters. The Bachsertal is today - not least thanks to this regulation - one of the last intact cultural landscapes of the Canton of Zurich.

Sports

Bach is a stronghold in the netball of women. In the top division of Switzerland, the National League A, the Bachser team won in 1979, 1989 and between 2004 and 2007 four times in series the Swiss Championship.
