Beaumotte - Aubertans is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Beaumotte - Aubertans situated at an altitude of 240 m above sea level, 8 km southwest of Montbozon and about 22 km south of the town of Vesoul (air line). The double municipality extends to the south of the department on the northern edge of the valley of Ognon, on the southern edge of the woods to the Grands Bois.

The area of ​​13:57 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the middle Ognon Valley. The southern boundary runs along the Ognon. This here flows with large meanders through about one kilometer wide alluvial plain, which is on average 230 m. From the plane, the municipality's area extends northward over a steep slope on the adjacent plateau, which is mainly consisted of arable and meadow land and is divided by the valley of the village of Bach's Beaumotte. History

A church to Beaumotte is mentioned as early as 1120. She was under the cloister of Saint -Paul in Besançon. In the Middle Ages Beaumotte and Aubertans belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. Together with the Franche -Comté reached both villages with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Attractions

The Church of Beaumotte which has no tower was rebuilt in the 19th century. For the rich interior includes an altar and a pulpit from the 18th century as well as remarkable statues of the Virgin and St. John from the 15th and 16th centuries.
