Besain

Besain is a commune in the French department of Jura in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Besain is located on 530 m above sea level. M., about 22 km northeast of the town of Lons -le- Saunier (air line). The farming village extends in the Jura, in a wide clearing in the central part of the plateau Caledonia (first Jura plateau ), between the erosion valley of Culée de Vaux in the west and the crest of the Côte de l' Today in the East.

The area of ​​12.84 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. The main part of the territory occupied by the level of the plateau Caledonia, the average at 530 m above sea level. History
