Concrete Court-Saint - Pancras is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Concrete Court-Saint - Pancras is at an altitude of 283 m above sea level, 5 km east of Vauvillers and about 33 km north of the town of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the extreme north of the department, on a hill between the valleys of the Superbe in the west and the Dorgeon in the east, at the edge of the plateau of La Voge.

The area of ​​6.35 km ² municipal area comprises a section in the gently undulating countryside on the outskirts of the Voge. The central part of the area occupied by the height of concrete court, which is on average 280 m and is used mainly for agricultural purposes. It is bounded to the west by the valley of the Superbe and its tributary Ruisseau de Potier. In the east, the municipality area extends into the hollow of the Dorgeon. History

In the Middle Ages concrete Court-Saint - Pancras belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The local government has held the Priory Saint- Pancrace in Fontaine- lès- Luxeuil. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the place with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Today Concrete Court-Saint - Pancras is a member of the comprehensive 20 villages municipal association Communauté de communes des Belles Sources.

Attractions

The village church of concrete Court-Saint - Pancras in 1838 newly built on the site of a chapel. Has an altar in the Louis XVI style and a painting from the 16th century. The town center is dominated by houses from the 18th century, showing the traditional style of the Haute -Saône, including a house of the Knights Templar ( 1700 ) and the former rectory (1737). The covered Lavoir, which once served as a laundry and watering cattle, was built in the 19th century. At the end of the village stands a statue of St. Roch (17th century).

Population

With 53 inhabitants (1 January 2011 ) Concrete Court-Saint - Pancras is one of the smallest municipalities in the department of Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1881 213 persons were still counted ), only small fluctuations were recorded since the early 1960s.

Economy and infrastructure

Concrete Court-Saint - Pancras is still a predominantly by agriculture ( farming, viticulture and animal husbandry ) and forestry embossed village. Outside of the primary sector, there are few jobs in town. Some employed persons are therefore commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work.

The village is situated away from the larger passage axes, but is easily accessible from the main road D417 which leads from Luxeuil -les- Bains to Bourbonne -les -Bains. Further road links exist with Fontenois -la -Ville, Girefontaine and Dampvalley -Saint- Pancras.
