Plainemont

Plainemont is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Plainemont lies at an altitude of 300 m above sea level, 6 km southwest of Saint -Loup- sur- Semouse and about 26 km north of the town of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the northern part of the department, a scenic location on a hill between the valleys of Planey in the west and in the east Semouse.

The area of ​​3.30 km ² municipal area comprises a section in the rolling countryside of the north of the valley of the Lanterne. The central part of the area occupied by the running in a north-south direction ridge of Plainemont. With 303 meters, the highest elevation of Plainemont is achieved in the area of the village. In geological- tectonic regard is the high ridge of limestone of the Middle Triassic.

The hill is flanked by two rivers Alluvialniederungen. East by the Semouse, on the west by the Planey, which flows into the former at the southernmost point of the municipal area The valleys are on average 230 m and have a width of approximately one kilometer. Neighboring communities of La Pisseure Plainemont are in the north, Ainvelle in the east, the south and Briaucourt Dampierre- lès- Conflans and Jasney in the West.

History

In the Middle Ages Plainemont belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The local government has held the monastery Clairefontaine since 1159. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the place with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Today Plainemont is a member of the 20 localities comprehensive community association Communauté de communes des Belles Sources.

Attractions

Population

With 63 inhabitants (1 January 2011 ) is one of the smallest municipalities Plainemont of the Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1891, 109 people were still counted ), a slight population growth was recorded since the mid-1970s again.

Economy and infrastructure

Plainemont is still a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. Outside of the primary sector, there are few jobs in town. Some employed persons are therefore commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work.

The village is situated away from the larger passage axes. The main access is from the secondary road that leads from Conflans -sur- Lanterne after Vauvillers. Another road connection with La Pisseure.
