Bill Halter

William A. " Bill " Halter ( born November 30, 1960 in North Little Rock, Arkansas ) is an American politician. Between 2007 and 2011 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Arkansas.

Career

Bill Holder visited the Little Rock Catholic High School and studied at Stanford University in California after that. This was followed up in 1986 to study at the University of Oxford in England. After his return to the United States he worked as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party. He was economic adviser to the United States Congress Joint Economic Committee and the Finance Committee of the U.S. Senate. In 1993, he was appointed by President Bill Clinton as Advisor to the Office of Management and Budget. Between 1999 and 2001 he was Deputy Head of the Social Security Administration. He promoted the use of new computer technologies and the Internet. After 2001 he worked in the private sector.

In 2006, Holder was chosen on the side of Mike Beebe as vice- governor of Arkansas. This post he held between 2006 and 2011. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. Prior to his election as lieutenant governor he considered also for the year 2006 as a candidate for the office of governor. However, this application he retired early. In 2010, he sought the nomination for election to the U.S. Senate, but lost in the primary narrowly to Blanche Lincoln, which then in turn the Republican John Boozman defeated.

Beginning of 2013, said Bill Holder announced his candidacy for the gubernatorial elections of 2014 in Arkansas. But in July of the same year he moved his application again.
