Bilyayivka

Biljajiwka (Ukrainian Біляївка; Russian Беляевка / Beljajewka ) is a city in southern Ukraine, about 39 kilometers west of Odessa. It is the center of the Rajons Biljajiwka and is located on the east bank of the river Turuntschuk.

It was founded in the 17th century by fleeing Zaporozhian Cossacks under the name Golowkiwka, 1957, an urban-type settlement and has since 1975 a city charter.
