Ananyiv

Ananjiw (Ukrainian Ананьїв; Russian Ананьев / Ananiev, Romanian Ananiev or rarely Nani ) is a city in southern Ukraine, about 151 kilometers north of Odessa. It is the center of the same name and is Rajons Ananjiw bank of the river Tylihul ( Тилігул ).

It was first mentioned in 1753 for the first time as a Sloboda Anani, 1834, it was renamed Ananiev / Ananjiw after the biblical person Ananias. Between 1924 and 1940, the city was a part of the Moldavian ASSR, after which resolution they came to the Ukrainian SSR and received city status in 1941.
