Bollullos de la Mitación

Bollullos de la Mitación is a southern Spanish town in the province of Seville Autonomous Community of Andalusia.

History

Bollullos is of Arabic origin and means " small tower ". La Mitación originally consisted of several settlements as Torrearcas, Aljuven, Torreblanca, Almanchar, Seismalos, Almonjón, Palmaraya, Almonasterejo, Rianzuela and Cuatrovitas. These settlements existed until the late 15th century.

In 1594 the settlements were part of the Kingdom of Seville and documented under the present village name Bollullos de la Mitación. The church at that time had 156 citizens.

Traffic

In the immediate vicinity of the village runs the Autopista A-49, which begins in Seville and ends at the border with Portugal, Ayamonte. In Bollullos operate four intercity bus lines (M -157, M -158 M- 159 and M -169 ), connect the community with Aljarafe, Seville, Villamanrique de la Condesa and Pilas. The municipal area is located nine kilometers south of the town of La Juliana airfield Aeródromo.
