Boy Charlton

Andrew Murray " Boy" Charlton (born 12 August 1907 in Crows Nest, † December 10, 1975 in Avalon, New South Wales) was an Australian swimmer.

He participated in three Summer Olympic Games 1924-1932. He was at the 1924 Olympic Games Olympic champion in the 1500 m freestyle, won the silver medal with the Australian 4 × 200 m freestyle relay and bronze in the 400m freestyle. After the Olympic Games in 1928, where he again won the silver medal in the 400 m and 1500 m freestyle, he announced his retirement from swimming. In 1932 he returned yet again to the pool back, but could not weakened at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles because of being overweight and by a flu get into the finals.

In 1972 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
