Brett Eppehimer

Brett Roger Eppehimer ( born May 26, 1976 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania ) is a former American professional basketball player. After studying in his native country was Eppehimer professional in Europe and participated in the Italian citizenship, with whom he fell in European leagues because of the Bosman ruling under less restrictive foreigner restrictions. After his debut season as a professional in the German Basketball League 1999/2000 of the SG Braunschweig played Eppehimer still in Spain, the United Kingdom, Greece and Italy, before he ended his active career in the Netherlands in 2006. Brett Eppehimer has a three- years-younger brother Nick, who was also a professional basketball player in Europe.

Career

After school Eppehimer went to study at the Lehigh University in Bethlehem (Pennsylvania), where he played from 1995 four years for the Mountain Hawks in the Patriot League of NCAA basketball. The Mountain Hawks had a very physically weak phase in the second half of the 1990s and won the 1996/97 only one game out of 27 games this season. Two years later, in 1999, the end of the college career of Eppehimer, although they won six season games, but lost all twelve games against competitors from the Patriot League. However Eppehimer was one of the mainstays in the athletic unsuccessful team and ranks with 1,742 career points and 226 successful distance throws from behind the three- point line to the best players in these categories in the history of the Mountain Hawks. For the season 2002 /03 hired Eppehimer in Greek A2 Ethniki in to Ilisiakos from Athens. The team took third place in the table at the end of the season, but still was able to rise in the top flight since the Second- retired for economic reasons. Eppehimer played at the end of the season for the Spanish second division from Los Barrios, who, however, missed the play-offs in tenth place in the table to move up, where his former club from Tenerife achieved promotion to the top flight. In the following season 2003/ 04 played Eppehimer then for the first time in his adopted home of Italy, with whose citizenship he had previously.
