Brian Cushing ( born January 24, 1987, Park Ridge, New Jersey) is an American professional American football player at the position of the Inside Linebackers. He plays for the Houston Texans in the National Football League ( NFL).

College

Cushing played from 2005 to 2008 college football for the USC Trojans University of Southern California ( USC) under head coach Pete Carroll and Linebacker Coach Ken Norton Jr. He shared the jersey with the number 10 along with the starting quarterback his team, John David Booty, and from 2005 to 2007. Cushing and his two linebacker colleagues, Clay Matthews and Rey Maualuga, played for the Trojans than their peers and were before the NFL Draft in 2009, acted as a potential first-round picks.

NFL

Cushing was selected in the first round of the NFL Drafts 2009 became the fifteenth players from the Houston Texans. He played a very successful rookie season, at the end he was elected to the Pro Bowl and Defensive Rookie of the Year. In 2012 he was injured in a game against the New York Jets after a peel -back block hard and fell the rest of the season out. This Tackle at Cushing led among other things to a sharper interpretation of the rules.
