The Town of Bridgeport is one of eleven Towns in Crawford County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. In 2010, Bridgeport had 990 inhabitants.

Geography

The Town of Bridgeport is located in southwest Wisconsin, at the mouth of the Wisconsin River in the Mississippi River. The Wisconsin River forms the southern boundary of Crawford County, during the Mississippi forms the border with Iowa.

Traffic

Through the Town of Bridgeport run on a common stretch of U.S. Highway 18 and the Wisconsin State Highway 35, which simultaneously form the Wisconsin section of the Great River Road here. Along the Wisconsin River runs the Wisconsin State Highway 60 All other roads are minor roads, some unpaved roadways and within local roads.

Along the Mississippi runs for freight traffic, a railroad line of the BNSF Railway, while along the Wisconsin River, a stretch of the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad runs, which continues from the Mississippi River to Madison and from there to Milwaukee.

The Prairie du Chien Municipal Airport is located on the northern edge of the Town, a small airfield.
