Bruce Richardson (2011)

Bruce Richardson ( born June 8, 1977 in Lachine, Quebec ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and current coach, who stands at the Châteauguay Patriotes since 2011 in the QMAAA as head coach under contract.

Career

Bruce Richardson began his career in 1993 at the Sherbrooke in the Quebec Major Junior Faucons Hockey League. Here he remained three and a half years prior to signing on for one and a half years at the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.

In the 1997/98 season he played his first game as a pro in the East Coast Hockey League and the American Hockey League. By 2005, the links Sagittarius played eight seasons in North America for nine different clubs in four leagues.

For the 2005/06 season he signed a contract with the Iserlohn Roosters in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. There he was given the task of leading the young fourth row. The husband and father of a son was considered a very robust player and should strengthen the physical element in the Roosters game. After an injury Richardson missed the entire second half of the season and could not play for the Roosters.

He then spent another two years in North America, this time in the unterklassigen UHL and CHL. From 2008 he played in the Elite Ice Hockey League for the Nottingham Panthers. There he became a crowd favorite and received various awards. Shortly after the season Richardson extended his contract by one year.

In May 2010 he was engaged by the newly established Braehead Clan player-coach. After the 2010/11 season, he finished his involvement in the EIHL and was followed as head coach of the Châteauguay Patriotes from the QMAAA, a unterklassigen Canadian junior league, works.
