Geographical location

The market town Burgpreppach located in the heart of Hassberge. Most important rivers are the demand for construction (river) and the Hainbach.

Geology

The community Burgpreppach Germany gained wide fame through the " Burgpreppacher sandstone ", which was used among other things for the construction of the Reichstag building.

History

Lock and place Burgpreppach came in 1344 in the possession of the fox Bimbach family. The nobility owned 1806 mediated by the Grand Duchy of Würzburg. It was with this 1814 Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818 the municipality Burgpreppach.

Religions

Incorporations

Coat of arms

By decision of the municipal council, with the approval of the Government of Lower Franconia Burgpreppach leads since 1980 own coat of arms with elements of the old family coat of arms of the fox Bimbach and the Stewards of Wetzhausen.

Blazon: Split; forward over blue Zinnenschildfuß in gold on the left inverted, rising red fox, rear over golden Wellenschildfuß in red behind a half silver mill wheel.

Coat of Arms History: Representing the various occupied in the municipality noble gentlemen standing at the fox out of the arms of the fox of Bimbach and spine center, the largest landed nobility in the municipality, as well as the colors silver, red and gold from the crest of the Stewards of Wetzhausen, rich land, in parts of the municipal area, the advocacies occupied.
