History

The family of Rotenhan was detectable already at the first mention of Rentweinsdorf 1248 in place. In 1497 the Rotenhan were enfeoffed by the Bishop of Würzburg, Lorenz von Bibra with the full center jurisdiction. The manor of the Barons of Rotenhan, which also belonged to the Frankish knights circle 1806 mediated by Bayern and 1810 left in the wake of border adjustments the Grand Duchy of Würzburg of Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany, with which it finally fell back to Bavaria in 1814. As part of the administrative reform in Bavaria was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.
