Geography

Geographical Location

By Ebelsbach flows the same Ebelsbach. This arises in Hofstetten and flows over a 15 kilometers at Eltmann in the Altmain. The Ebelsberg (335 m ) limits the municipality to the east, the Schönberg ( 340m ) to the northwest. The village of Ebelsbach together with the municipalities Breitbrunn, Kirchlauter and Stettfeld the administrative community Ebelsbach.

History

The former manor of the lords of Rotenhan, which was also in the Franconian knights circle, was mediated by Bavaria in 1806 and fell in 1810 at Grenzpurifikationen between Bavaria and Wurzburg latter. The rights of the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg in 1805 were passes from Bavaria to the Grand Duchy. 1814, the site was again part of Bavaria. Structures

In the municipality there are two locks:

  • Ebelsbach Castle, built 1564-1569 by Matthew of Rotenhan on predecessors, is a former water castle. It is west of several parts, the actual palace on Ebelsbach and some farm buildings it. Originally, the castle was surrounded by a deep ditch, which serves as a garden since its drying. A small bridge leads over him and thus connects the courtyard to the main building. The property is located since 2000 in the possession of an investor. On 10 September 2009 a major fire destroyed the Renaissance castle.
  • The second Ebelsbacher castle Gleisenau castle, located in the district Gleisenau. It dates from the late Rococo and a part of the community Ebelsbach. It serves as a primary school and the municipal offices.

Traffic

Ebelsbach is located on State Road 26 and has direct access to the Federal Highway 70 (Exit Eltmann ). The state highway 2274 leads to Rentweinsdorf where it meets the main road after 279 boars.

Furthermore, there is a connection to the railway line Bamberg -Würzburg with the breakpoint Ebelsbach - Eltmann.
